Pro Cycle's Blaauwendraat Kicks Off 2009 Racing Season
While continuing to improve on the setup of his new Honda CBR600RR Brian Blaauwendraat was positive about his start to the 2009 racing season following the opening round of the Parts Canada Superbike Championship last weekend at Calabogie Motorsports Park about an hour outside Ottawa, ON. “Over the course of the weekend every time I went out on the track I had made changes to the bike setup, which kept getting better and better,” commented the Beaver Brook, NS resident. “Unfortunately it was all too late. However I did make a lot of progress that I am very happy about.” Roberts Wins USGPRU Season Opener In Florida
2008 National USGPRU 250GP champion Adam Roberts started his 2009 racing campaign with a bang by winning the opening round of the Eastern US series at the JenningsGP circuit in Florida on Sunday. Roberts, originally from Halifax, NS and now calling Milford, NS home, grabbed the early lead in the nine lap final around Jennings’ 2.0-mile, 14-turn track. By the end of the race, Roberts had pulled out to an eight second margin of victory over the rest of the field after leading every lap. Estabrooks To Pro Cycle MX Squad For 2009
Lawrencetown’s David Estabrooks aims for the top of the podium in the 2009 Regional CMRC MX1 Pro class, and with an impressive new package from Pro Cycle and Suzuki Canada, it should certainly make for an exciting race season. Having a series of finishes at the front of the field in 2008, Estabrooks hopes to hit the ground running when he gets to the ’09 season opener, which will be held in Clyde River, Nova Scotia on May 3. “I can’t wait to put that fuel injected Suzuki RM-Z450 on top the podium,” Estabrooks stated when asked how he felt about the new bike. |
