When it comes to looking for a casual but effective riding boot, I want it to have some flexibility, nice styling, waterproofing if possible, and a comfortable sole that I could potentially walk in most of the day. I’ve owned a few pairs of motorcycle boots ranging from the sportier side, over to the adventure riding side, and some in between.

Casual riding boots always seem to feel like a grey area- from a distance they look like they would do the trick, but on closer inspection you find that there are just some “off” points in the design. The Falco Patrols fall perfectly in between function and style.

They’ve held up surprisingly well on wet days, never once leaking any moisture  in through the leather upper or the soles. The sole itself looks as good as the day I bought them. The lacing has yet to fray, as so many of my previous boot laces have done, and there hasn’t been any real discoloration besides the usual wear on the toe from upshifting. My only small gripe is that there isn’t much ventilation. I’ve never noticed my feet sweating to an unbearable level, but I will say, on the hotter days you can feel the shell around your feet giving them no way to properly breathe.

The Falco Patrols fall perfectly in between function and style.

All in all, these are a solid 9/10 for me. Made with oil-treated leather, High-Tex Advanced Membrane™ waterproofing, D3O Impact Protection® armour in the ankles, and a very comfortable rubber sole, this is the only boot that I want to ride in. When I can go for a ride in the early morning on my way to work, start a 7 hour shift, walk around all day in these boots and then after work, go for another 2 hour ride...well, that says it all right there. They are, without a doubt (in my opinion) the best boots to own for pure comfort without sacrificing look or protection.
